Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Kemet Keepers ("we", "us") collects when you use the Kemet Keepers game (the "Game"), our community forum at forum.kemetkeepers.com (the "Forum"), and this website (together, the "Service"), and how we handle it. The short version: we collect what's needed to run an online game with accounts — no more — and we never sell your data.

Information we collect

Account information. When you register — in the Game or on the Forum, which share one account system — we collect a username, an email address, and a password. Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes; we cannot see them.
Game data. Your save data (progress, beasts, items, in-game currency) is stored on our servers, tied to your account, so it can follow you across devices. Multiplayer actions (trades, duels, raids, hub presence, chat messages) pass through and may be logged by our servers.
Forum content. Posts, messages, and profile content you choose to publish on the Forum.
Technical data. Our servers keep standard logs (IP address, request time, user agent) for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. These rotate out automatically.
Optional gameplay telemetry. If you enable "Share play data" in the Game's settings (off by default), we receive anonymous gameplay events (e.g. battle outcomes, where players lose) used solely to balance the Game. This telemetry contains no personal information.

What we use it for

Operating the Service: accounts, sign-in, saves, multiplayer, and the Forum.
Transactional email: registration confirmation and password resets. We do not send marketing email.
Security: preventing cheating, abuse, and unauthorized access.
Improving the Game via the optional, anonymous telemetry described above.

What we share

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers. Your data is processed by the infrastructure providers we rely on to operate the Service:

DigitalOcean (server hosting, United States)
Amazon Web Services (transactional email delivery)
Cloudflare (DNS, network security, and encrypted backups)

Other players can see your username, your in-game character, and anything you post or say in shared spaces. We may disclose information if required by law.

Retention and deletion

Account and save data are kept while your account exists. You can delete forum content yourself, and you can request full deletion of your account and associated data by emailing support@kemetkeepers.com from the account's email address — we will complete it within 30 days. Encrypted backups age out on a rolling schedule.

Security

All traffic between your device and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS/WSS). Passwords are hashed, servers are firewalled and access-restricted, and backups are stored encrypted off-site.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Most of this you can do directly in your account settings; for anything else, email us and we'll help.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date, and note it on the Forum.
